The ‘Clo-Clo Collection’ launches new comic talent.

In the run-up to 100 years of Marc Sleen, the Marc Sleen Foundation has chosen to take the step of supporting and promoting new comic talent. The goal is to publish two to four debut albums in the coming years in collaboration with the Brussels Region and the Marc Sleen House. The Clo-Clo Collection kicks off with the absurd and unique ‘Hotel Paradiso’ by Fin Ilsbroekx and the surprising and captivating *‘Sunflowers in ’44’* by Thomas Boydens.

Fin Ilsbroekx (2001) takes us on a tour of the afterlife in *‘Hotel Paradiso’*, where her protagonist—like so many others—longs for a reunion with her great love. But could death carve deeper rifts between lovers than she ever expected?

Ilsbroekx studied Graphic Design at LUCA School of Arts in Brussels and obtained her Master’s in Graphic Storytelling in 2023. She enjoys experimenting with various forms, colors, and materials and is strongly inspired by daily life and her surroundings. She is also fond of sketchbooks and coffee, whether combined or not.

Thomas Boydens (2000) takes us back to Belgium in 1944 with his album ‘Sunflowers in ’44’. Henri Dekeyser moves in with his aunt and uncle. He pours his pent-up emotions into a diary that is discovered decades later by his grandson. By reading this diary, the grandson hopes to understand why his grandfather became such a bitter man.

Boydens obtained his Master’s in Graphic Storytelling in 2023. In addition to his creative work, Thomas is currently completing his Educational Master’s, combining his passion for teaching and storytelling.
